Discovering Meaning in the Rush of the Commute.
While commuting to work on the subway system, I began photographing fellow commuters with my cell phone. The images I photographed depicted contemporary people surrounded with all “their stuff" including iPhones, books and designer bags, participating in the humble act of commuting.
Slowly I began to see that these images contained a very important message.

I was glad to capture these four women commuting together, each surrounded by the bags that quietly reveal pieces of their daily stories. In the suburbs, our cars hold our everyday necessities; in metropolitan life, we carry our worlds with us.
